Trotman Studies in Careers, Employability and Transitions

The world of careers is changing rapidly, creating new opportunities and challenges for researchers, practitioners, educators and policymakers. This webinar introduces the new Trotman Studies in Careers, Employability and Transitions series, a collection of thought-provoking monographs that advance contemporary thinking in career development and employability.

Featuring insights from leading authors in the series, the session will explore the key themes emerging from three landmark publications: Careers and Freedom by Peter J. Robertson, which examines careers through the lens of freedom, wellbeing and social justice; Improvisational Career Guidance by Ida Holth Mathiesen, which explores professional judgement and adaptability in career guidance practice; and The Emancipation of Career by Tristram Hooley and Rie Thomsen, which challenges traditional assumptions about careers and reimagines their purpose in contemporary society.

Attendees will gain an overview of the series’ intellectual foundations, discover the latest developments in career scholarship, and explore how new ideas can inform research, policy and practice across a range of settings.
